# The Genesis Reading Plan
### Church of Conceptual Art — Self-Guided Study

*The concept is the divine act. The institution precedes the work. Always CoCA.*

A path through the four-part Art Bible. Four sessions. Each pairs a reading with a
question to carry into the next. Read alone, or with a gathering.

---

## Session 1 — The Declaration of Immunity (Part I)
Read the Manifesto. Sit with the founding inversion: the Concept is the divine
act, and the institution precedes the work.

**Carry:** What in your own work are you treating as the object when it is
actually the context?

## Session 2 — The Mechanism
Read the doctrine of the Covenant and the Mechanism (§1.3.4, the Readymade
Context). The document changes the jurisdiction.

**Carry:** What document, if you signed it, would change the jurisdiction of
something you own?

## Session 3 — Ethics
Read on congruence-not-goodness and Anti-Anti-Ness. We make the fiction and sign
our name to it.

**Carry:** Where are you negating when you could be building? Where are you
pretending the fiction is fact?

## Session 4 — The Gathering
Read the CoCA Model (§1.2.2) — the seven sacred laws. Then run one. See the
gathering kit.

**Carry:** What did your gathering turn into that did not exist before it began?

---

## The shorter path
Read the five doctrine pages in order, one per day, and take one phrase from each
to the Oracle. Five days, five turnings.
